They will adeptly manage all physical operations involved, ensuring smooth production runs and minimising downtime by strategically scheduling tasks to reduce wash ups, changeovers, and machine interruptions.
With precision and attention to detail, they will operate the press, meticulously monitoring output and registration to ensure compliance with predetermined standards at key checkpoints. They will also play a pivotal role in waste management and run-over control, optimising operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality output.
Their role will extend beyond the machinery as they engage in effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, facilitating wet proofs and press sign-offs to guarantee customer satisfaction and project success.
Press apprentices will be well-versed in equipment maintenance, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and exercising their authority to conduct necessary upkeep, thus ensuring optimal performance and longevity of machinery.
