What you will do in your working day
To complete the Apprenticeship Programme fulfilling all requirements of the Learn to Print Standard Level-3 Pre-Press for Print Course.
At the end of your Apprenticeship training, attain the level of skill required to be a fully trained Artworker.
Interact and behave accordingly with all your colleagues in the Artwork, Repro, Quality Control and Account Management areas.
As part of the Artwork team, you will actively provide support to the team and the Production Manager to facilitate the successful delivery of all client requests, providing first class artwork delivery and first-class customer service.
As a leading European print & packaging company, we are currently recruiting for 2 apprentices to join our Artwork team, based in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking at getting into a Artworker role.
The successful candidates will attend a training centre with Learn2Print, as well as completing online work.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- You will report directly to the Brand Guardian for the full term of your apprenticeship
- Ensure you attend all classes for the duration of the Pre-Press to Print course
- Ensure you fulfil all obligations and requirements from your tutor on the course
- Read and refer to your Staff Handbook to understand our business core values, our expectations from you in your behaviour to others, adhering to company policies, and ensure you are aware of all requirements in our Health & Safety policy.
- Strive to complete all artworks on time in full (OTIF), and right first time (RFT).
- Complete 1st build artworks and amend all artwork in accordance to standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Follow any Mark-up/range notes/guidelines where applicable
- Ensure artwork correctly adheres to specific print specification
- Actively engage in learning guidelines and other areas of the studio
- Be open minded and willing to learn new skills. Communicate to the wider team to ensure queries are addressed quickly and efficiently
- Work with the Production Manager to support where fluctuations of workload demand
- Maintain good housekeeping
The training you will be getting
A full plan will be formulated to give a progressive, structured training scheme. Training modules will be issued at each stage covering all aspects of on-site training with hands–on experience. This will cover everything including health and safety and general industrial practices. Industry specific technical training will take place on every module offering the apprentice a unique opportunity to learn from industry professionals. Training on each module will be to a required standard rather than a time limit.
Content:
- Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard for Print Technician
- One day per month study offsite workplace with Learn2print Allocated assessor with regular visits to the workplace to review practical element of the apprenticeship.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Full time position within the company is available to the right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship programme.
