As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist the department to achieve target run speeds and obtain optimum performance.
  • Follow work-ticket plans and coordinate material supply with the forklift driver.
  • Produce job-tickets for scrap, rejected or returned loads and to secure loads prior to removal from area.
  • Assist in the preparation of subsequent jobs and during make readies to achieve efficient change over between jobs, minimizing lost production time, supporting any timely quality checks, along with supporting housekeeping and Quality Audits
  • Ensure machine area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Help machine crews to achieve efficient running and cover meal breaks.
  • Carry out all duties in a safe and efficient manner whilst conforming to H&S procedures.
  • Undertake Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) training.
  • Present loads to press to the highest standard to generate high quality and efficient production.
  • Input work-ticket information accurately for all load details and report any shortages or material problems.
  • Perform a timely and thorough handover with the oncoming shift to include safety, plan, machine condition and quality.
  • Participate and contribute to all activities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and lean initiatives.
