What you will do in your working day

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a new career in signage to join our friendly, motivated print team. Do you have some experience working in print, or looking for a new career using your practical skills? Would you like a new challenge, working for a successful business that offers training and long-term career prospects. This role would suit a hard-working, technical, and practical individual, Full training in this role can be provided for candidates with no prior industry experience. In this position you will be working in the production team engaged in the production of graphics, signage, printing, and associated activities required for the company’s daily operation. You will be have opportunity to work with a range of modern print equipment and quickly become a key player in our growing team. Reports to: Print Production Manager Also liaises with: Production Team, Operations Team, Warehouse Team Role Objectives and Responsibilities Key responsibilities include: General finishing (hand or machine, flatbed cutters, laminators etc.) Learning how to operate large format printers Taking accurate instructions and working off job sheets General upkeep and maintenance of machines Ensuring all jobs are completed accurately and on time Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment Being flexible to assist with other duties as required Supporting the smooth flow of work through the production department Have a positive can-do approach to facilitate the company’s general day-to-day operations

The training you will be getting

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Press pathway). The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their “off-the-job” requirement of the apprenticeship during their working hours. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both their employer and BPIF Training to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship. You will be assigned a training coordinator who will work with you throughout your apprenticeship to ensure that you have the best training and support available. Training will take place on-site, with regular visits and occasional remote sessions with your BPIF training coordinator.
