What you will do in your working day

Machine Operation

  • Set up and operate DTG printing machines, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Load and position garments or textiles on the printing platen, ensuring accurate alignment.
  • Select and adjust printing settings, including ink levels, resolution, and print speed.

Design Preparation

  • Review and prepare digital designs and artwork for printing.
  • Ensure proper placement and scaling of designs on garments.
  • Perform minor design adjustments as needed to optimize printing quality.

Ink Mix & Maintenance

  • Prepare and load ink cartridges or reservoirs with the appropriate colors.
  • Monitor ink levels during printing and replenish as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the DTG printer, including cleaning print heads and nozzles.

Quality Control

  • Inspect printed garments for color accuracy, design clarity, and any printing defects.
  • Make adjustments to printing equipment or settings to correct issues.
  • Ensure the final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.

The training you will be getting

You will gain a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship qualification.

Training will take place remotely via teams once a month and will require some independent learning in addition to the monthly sessions.
