What you will do in your working day

You will be shown and trained in running a 4 colour litho printing press learning all about ink, chemistry and substrate interactions, ultimately producing high quality printed items to a defined specification.

A typical day will involve making-ready (setting up), running and maintaining jobs as you move through the work list.

The training you will be getting

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard and Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
  • The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their “Off-the-Job” requirement of the apprenticeship and throughout your time as an apprentice you will be supported by both Bendart Limited and the BPIF.
  • You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your individual needs and business needs.
  • Most training and studying will be site based.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • You would be employed full-time as a fully qualified litho printer, print technician and be a key part of the team for the future, taking over senior roles as and when staff leave/retire.
